Visited Austin (FCM Welding) in Corsham to see how he is getting on with the repairs. He has removed the engine and gearbox which were sitting on a trolley. Together they make up a long unit, so probably need to be separated to be moved. With the engine removed, it should now be much easier to clean the engine bay and it was good to see the area now clear. Austin showed me his work in progress on the doors. On one door the repair is complete and just needs a bit more grinding. The other door needs a section pieced in. I could see where he is going to butt weld and was really pleased with the standard of work. He has identified that the battery carrier is rusted and he will repair this but no other nightmares so far. He will spray the repairs with primer as a holding finish pending the respray.
